Fort Delaware reproduction.
Shown with the leather hood, this is a reproduction item from 1864, created for Fort Delaware. 20" high, 13" diameter heads, 15" diameter at bulge. Constructed of quarter-sawn white oak, wtih multi-pieced head. Hoops are 3/16" x 1" copper to prevent sparking, with copper nails and rivets. Comes equipped with a leather hood which tucks inside to protect the artillery charges.
We also offer a regular pin version of this budge barrel, with two tight heads and bung hole, for the brewing and vintning enthusiast, as well as for large potable water containment while in camp.
